THE RESCHEDULED WEDDING – ONE THING YOU MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN

So, you are finally getting married! After an exceedingly difficult, unprecedented year and numerous harrowing postponements, your wedding has been successfully rescheduled.

You are one of hundreds of couples who have had to postpone their wedding - some multiple times - due to the pandemic. You have moved most of your vendors to your new date, rebooked your celebrant and booked other vendors to fill the gaps, so everything is sorted.

ONE THING YOU MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN….

Your wedding ceremony itself!

Your wedding may have been delayed for a year or even more and your celebrant would have completed your personalised ceremony well before your original date.

The ceremony needs to be revisited and updated to reflect and include all the things that have occurred in your life since your original wedding date.

Nobody wants to make their wedding all about Covid 19, you may not wish to mention it at all! However, the time passed, the fact of the postponement and acknowledging that the day is finally here can all be woven into the ceremony. Also, the events of the intervening time should be included in your story.

This is also a good time to revisit your personal vows and check if you would like to include anything new. You may wish to rewrite you vows altogether.

Many couples have told me that working together to move their wedding and rebook suppliers, has brought them closer together.

If you have successfully navigated a wedding postponement, you can probably get through anything.

Wishing you all the best for your wedding.
