Your Wedding Ceremony-10 Tips to make your Ceremony Unique & Meaningful.

Organising your wedding is a daunting task, let alone planning a meaningful and unique ceremony! But it need not be difficult if you follow these ten tips that will allow you to add your own uniqueness to your wedding ceremony.

1.  Include your story in your ceremony. It is always wonderful when the ceremony includes how you met and your journey to marriage.

2.  Consider including your family and other loved ones in your ceremony.

3.  For couples with children, there are so many ways to include your children in your ceremony. They can be a part of the bridal party or if older read something during the ceremony.

4.  Consider including your dog/pet in your wedding ceremony!

5.  Cultural and religious traditions can also be included into your ceremony.

6.  Take the time to select appropriate and meaningful music for your ceremony. If you have friend that plays a musical instrument, this would be a wonderful way to include them in your ceremony.

7.  Select a meaningful reading for your ceremony. This can be your favourite poem, the words from a special song, a wedding poem or even something someone has written especially for you.

8.  Add personal details to your ceremony. A line from your favourite song or favourite TV show can be woven into the ceremony to add a special personal touch.

9.  There are many creative and memorable ways to bring ritual and symbolic actions into your ceremony.  For example, A Ring Warming, A Community Blessing, A Sand Ceremony, A Wine Ceremony, Flower Ceremony, Handfasting Ceremony, Love Letters, Wedding Time Capsule, to name just a few. Contact me for more information on these.

10. The most important and special time in your ceremony, is when you read your vows to each other. It is very special when the couple each write their own vows independently from each other and then hear them for the first time on their wedding day.

Once you have sifted through these ideas and created your own list from these suggestions, handball your ideas to your celebrant, who can then put together a meaningful and personalised ceremony just for you.

Happy wedding planning!
